Got me a place to hang my hat. Now I just need a hat…
Wednesday, November 30th, 2005I found a place to live, and I’ll move in in the next day or two. Scope this: nice place, HUGE back yard, *hot tub*, and hella cool roommates. Adrian, the only one I’ve gotten to know at all, is trying to turn the place into an urban farm. He’s got chickens that give eggs, and a garden in the back yard. He said he planted 2200 bulbs of garlic this year. I’m not sure why, but it’s still cool. Oh, and all utilities are included in the rent, as well as high-speed WiFi. I’d be lost without my Intra-web.
I beat that Bronchitis down like the little bitch it is. Boo yah!
Still no job, though. Austin and I took the Seattle Center test for Intermittent Stage Hands, and passed with flying colors. As of January 19, we’ll start getting called to tech shows. Mostly just load-ins and light hangs/focuses, but it will be theatre work. At $23/hour. And I’ll be union. Local #15, baby.
I have my Utilikilts interview on Friday, and I’m applying for a job at a Pet Food Store. They don’t sell animals, just high-quality pet food. The advert asked for an animal lover, and wanted me to prove it. So I talked about growing up in the woods, having lots of different pets (dogs, birds, ducks, rats, a crow, an owl, snakes, etc etc). That seemed to do the trick. I’ll drop off the application tomorrow, and hope for the best. I just can’t be in a place that sells cats, what with the violent sneezing and all.
I’ll be quite glad to get out of Austin’s hair. He has another friend that has been staying here for over a month. Now there are three of us in this studio apartment. Austin is an insanely gracious host. I’m going to have to do something really cool for him. If y’all think of anything, let me know.
Right then. At the moment, I’m going to tidy up his living room. ‘Cause I’m nice like that.
